US Military Struck a 'Large Plant' in Venezuela, President Trump Claimed Lacking Offering Details.

Former President Donald Trump has claimed that US forces hit a "major plant" in Venezuela in recent days. However, the former president withheld information about the precise purpose or site of the target, and officials have issued no further comment from his administration.

Unspecific Comments Made During a Radio Interview

"US forces just eliminated – I don't know if you read – they have a big plant, where the vessels depart from. The other night, we took it out. So we targeted them decisively," Trump allegedly told Republican donor and businessman John Catsimatidis on Friday.

Potential Significance of a Verified Strike

Should a US strike were to be verified, it would mark the initial attack on Venezuelan soil since the US Department of Defense initiated a increase of American strike forces in the region to disrupt narco-trafficking operations that the former administration claims operate under the authority of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.

The stated mission of the force deployment has transformed into a quarantine aimed at disrupting the nation's oil exports.

Online Video and Official Statements

Trump has for some time warned that US forces are poised to widen the operations by striking objectives within Venezuela, a tactic that would in theory require congressional approval.

A clip circulated online on 24 December seemed to depict an explosion said to be from an industrial zone in Zulia state. However, the footage or the site in question has not been independently verified.

An official from Trump's team reportedly informed a news network that the former president was describing a narco-trafficking site in his remarks.

Response and Current Strategic Posture

The Maduro government has not commented on the alleged strike Trump described. Additionally, there have been no independent reports from Venezuela about it.

The presence of US military in the area – a stance certain officials have termed a maritime "quarantine" – marks the largest maritime enforcement action of Trump's presidency.

Sources have avoided from calling the action as a full blockade, but have confirmed that around 15,000 service members are positioned across the Caribbean Sea and the Gulf, including a carrier strike group, advanced fighter jets, and Coast Guard cutters to implement current economic sanctions.
